PATINTERO
Now that the summer is upon us it was time to introduce the children to play one of the most popular indeginous Filipino game, the Patintero.
Patintero is a street game and also called Tubigan, Harang or Lantay-lantay which is normally played and enjoyed by the children at night when the moon is full. The game is played by two teams of equal numbers and use water to mark the grid lines if played on soft ground or chalk if played on concrete pavement.
There are other Filipino games that we will introduce at some point (weather permitting of course) such Piko, Langit-Lupa, Sungka, Tumbang Preso, Luksong Lubid, Sipa, etc.
Last Saturday it was time to play Patintero. From these photos it was obvious the children had a great time and enjoyed the game.
